SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY, NEWTOWN, CT

I have been so deeply effected by what happened in Connecticut the other day..Anytime I think about it I haven't been able to hold back even one tear or emotionally break down. Really not much different by the way I was so totally damaged by September 11th and all the other senseless tragedies that have been happening all across the world but specifically in America. To think 27 souls have been stolen and 20 of which were under the age of 10 just makes me so sick to the bottom of my gut. I hope the government figures out what the fuck the next move is from here about gun control and can come to terms with the NRA because this is absolute bull. How many more families have to suffer because people are making money under the table and licenses are being given out left and fucking right for absolutely no damn reason. detectors should be placed in every school and it should not be so accessible to get in just anywhere or anytime where children are everyday.. including day care, camp and after school programs. my prayers, my heart, my love my thoughts, my sympathy to every single child and adult and all of their families who were so completely effected by this forever we are here to support you in anyway you allow us to. also, if someone has a relationship with anyone who is involved with memorial services of any kind who would like for me to come and speak and perform my original song 'Disappear' to the families please contact me at booking@rachelassil.com Currently I am selling the record on iTunes and I will be donating sales of this song to the siblings, parents and loved ones who were robbed of their child, wife, girlfriend, fiancé, sister, aunt, grandmother or mother in this insane and unbelievable act of violence. DEAR @LAURAR143 [FROM YOUTUBE CEE LO GREEN] COVER]

@LauraR143 from youtube comment [cee lo green] cover To @rachelassil 'This is an awesome cover! I really like cee lo's work! But you seem so confident and i have a question for you. How do you do it , I mean how did you leave the fear and being shy behind? Because I really love singing but I'm also kind of shy ... Any suggestions? Please? Thank you !' @LauraR143 dear laura.thank you for your lovely comment.it's really very sweet of you+means a lot to me..before I answer your question ill need to ask you one first..are you asking because you'd like to be a recording artist or is this as a hobby? I ask you this because if you're planning to do it professionally then fear is not an option.there are too my people in the world that have talent & no fear & work hard, very hard to become successful in their careers so the labels want to know 'what sets her apart'.. being talented is less than half the battle,it takes more than talent,it takes guts..if you have that+you truly understand to be a real artist you have to do it from the deepest part of your heart+nowhere else.. you also asked me how do I leave the shyness+fear behind..to be honest,it's a blend of reasons..I have been a performer, musician & songwriter before I knew my times tables. I started real young+knew it was going to be my life. fear plays no part+if you truly think you have the talent+knowledge to 'make it' then apply yourself+nothing but you can stop you. love always, Rachel Assil live@rachelassil.com

STEINWAY

Dear Rachel, ...... has shared the exciting news that you sold a new Model B over the weekend. This is tremendous news and I wanted to congratulate you on this outstanding event. Selling a Steinway piano of this value takes knowledge, professionalism, and most of all, the confidence of the potential customer in the representative. Obviously you scored on all of these point and more. Congratulations and thank you for bringing this sale to fruition. I really appreciate the effort. Best wishes, ..... [president, steinway & sons] [this was by far one of the best emails i have ever received in my entire life and i just felt i had to share]

WHITNEY.

got out of LA today on a small road trip out of the chaos of grammy weekend..

while in a conversation speaking of whitney literally an hour ago before the news had gotten to me..about her being of the reasons i even became a singer and early childhood videos of me singing 'i wanna know will he really love me'

and the sweat on her upper lip while she'd sing and the best national anthem ever sung till this day which id spoken of during superbowl weekend..

i am broken down in complete + utter shock and never felt so many chills and hurt and tears over an artist as i have for whitney..

say what you want about her acting in the bodygaurd but i will never forget that her name was rachel in the film and i felt that was a huge sign and that when i won my first grammy i would always mention that in my first speech..

the memories that i have with whintey's records travel from the earliest years of my life+performing her music when i was 16 years old with three back up dancers in front of the largest crowd in the beginning stages of my live events 3,000 people..
Or when I snuck taking a photo of her years ago at the pool of the regent beverly wilshire while you were with your son and I was afraid you'd catch me but I didn't care cause you're whitney freakin huston and there was no way I didn't want to capture that moment.

whitney,i am sorry you suffered and had turned to the most improper things in life..

your gift was far beyond anything anyone could ever imagine. you had something so special and your legacy will last forever and ever..

your vocal performances and your story and your writing and your beauty will live on and on.

you've left me with a lifetime of memories+i promise i will not forget to thank you in my grammy speech.
you were the music id wake up my entire neighborhood to +sing and dance to at 6am when i was 4 years old.

i love you and wish your life well in heaven.
